Tuesdays, March 2nd - April 6th; 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Chronic Disease Self-Management - Presented each Tuesday from March 2nd to April 6th, at St. Bernards Senior Life Center, 700 E. Washington, in Jonesboro.
Dealing with a chronic illness can be frustrating. This set of interactive classes seeks to help individuals look at their disease differently and take control of their lives.
Thursday, March 18th; 4:00 p.m. Dementia: Answers to Questions You Don't Know to Ask - presented by Penny Rogers, LCSW and Carla Smith, RNC - to be held at the Center on Aging-NE, 303 E. Matthews, in Jonesboro.
Learn about the types of dementia, diagnosis and treatment and the importance of early detection.
Wednesdays and Fridays, March 31st - April 23rd; 10:00 a.m. Matter of Balance - to be held at the YMCA, in Jonesboro.
This program series stresses practical solutions to reduce the fear of falls. Participants learn to look at falls as controllable and seek to increase activity through exercise and lifestyle changes. Classes meet twice a week for four weeks and are open to anyone who wants to improve his or her balance, flexibility and strength.
