These services are offered to individuals to allow them to stay in their home while needing assistance to meet their needs. These services may include assistance with bathing, grooming, light housekeeping, shopping, meal planning, meal preparation, bill paying, running errands, chore services, personal emergency response systems and home delivered meals. Respite care is another in home service offered specifically to caregivers to allow temporary relief from the long term care they provide in the home. In-Home Services are offered by a variety of organizations. Some organizations only offer a few services while others provide all of the above. These services may be available to those eligible for a Medicaid covered program called Elderchoices. Application for assistance through Elderchoices is handled by the Arkansas Department of Human Services in each county. These services are also available through private pay.
